GV Hospice recently held its 35th Annual General Meeting, the highlight being the presentation of four life memberships. It was the first time this award had been conferred.
Recipients of Life Memberships were Dr Adrian Buncle, Wendy Cook, Patricia Gibson OAM and Dr John Hetherington. President Jeanette Powell AM spoke of the vital roles all had played in the establishment of GV Hospice and the ongoing support each provided over an extended period.
Service awards were presented to John Beaver 30 years, Rob Sands 30 years, Greg Luscombe 20 years, June Brewer 20 years, Glenys Holyman 20 years, Pamela Wood 20 years, Helen Bray 15 years, Val Gibbs 15 years, Marie Colbert 10 years and Jenny Sim 10 years – all for voluntary service to GV Hospice. Shirley Taylor received a 10 years’ service award as a nurse.
A special presentation was made to retiring Committee of Management member John Beaver after over 30 years’ service to GV Hospice, including being instrumental in the project management of the building in Balaclava Road.
